Like the ABSCISSEJUBILÉ, the EUTERPE has undergone a major overhaul: everything is technically new in this floor-standing speaker which retains its predecessor’s proportions but adopts new drivers and a new crossover.

We took advantage of this technical redesign to apply the new stylistic features of the Jubilee range advantageously refining its silhouette.

As usual, it was through patient laboratory study, combined with long hours of comparative listening that we were able to improve substantially all of the electroacoustic parameters of the EUTERPEJUBILÉ..

We approached its design with fresh eyes: while we wanted to keep its loading principle and its volume, we replaced the woofer as well as the tweeter and completely revised the crossover.

The results go beyond our expectations and set a new standard in this category of product. It sounds even more alive, much more luminous, and particularly coherent, with rich and varied tones. Its stereophonic image is impressively extensive, deep and stable. As with all of the Jubilee speakers, its deep bass is well articulated and has a very nice density, providing a substantial and clear sensationof impact. Listening seems perfectly fluid, without breaking across the spectrum. It opens amazing listening perspectives and far exceeds its predecessor on both technical and musical criteria.

It distills with ease a musicality of the highest order and in all respects in line with the philosophy of the most ambitious models of our current range.

TECHNICAL INFORMATION

LOADING PRINCIPLE:

Tuned triangular transmission line, lacking internal parallel walls which reduces the formation of standing waves and allows the use of a minimum of absorbent material. The use of internal viscoelastic absorbents transforms the vibratory energy into heat without loss of micro-information.

The tweeter is installed in an isolated internal enclosure guaranteeing total inertia and avoiding any mechanical intermodulation with the woofer.

Mechanical tensioning of the woofer is provided by a threaded rod made of stainless steel (non-magnetic) passing through the cabinet from one end to the other, resting on the woofer head and on the bottom of the cabinet. Adjustment of tension carried out using a torque wrench of great precision guarantees a strictly identical tightening torque. This axial attachment of the woofer makes it possible to tension the walls of the cabinet and ensures mechanical forces uniformly distributed between the loudspeaker basket and the support cabinet, dramatically improving the transient response of the system.

CROSSOVER:

12dB / octave cells. Low resistance resistive ferrite air coils, wound in 1.5mm diameter pure copper cable, ensuring a dynamic without settling. Silver-armored capacitors sorted in pairs with a tolerance of 1%.
Cut-off frequency 2800 Hz. Wiring "in the air" to reduce insertion losses and using our HP1132 silver cable. The whole crossover network is assembled on a specific anti vibration support. It is positioned as far as possible from any magnetic and vibratory disturbance. Terminal block type WBT accepting any type of connection (fork, banana or bare cable) on aluminum plate.

LOUDSPEAKERS

WOOFER:

This brand new driver is produced under specifications it is a 170mm long fiber Gaussian profile paper cone, treated on its back surface by a damping material extremely effective. Its impregnated fabric dust cap is assembled on the back of the cone in order to avoid the surface sticking of the. It has a 28mm coil on ventilated aluminum support, its aluminum frame perfectly clears the rear of the cone.
Its spider is also ventilated to allowa better cooling of the coil and thus significantly lower its distortion rate. It is equipped with a double magnet to increase the concentration of the magnetic field on the coil. Its suspension is made from a compound mixing rubber and foam and adopts a progressive profile to obtain a very good restoring force in the extreme low end while preserving the micro-displacements necessary for the reproduction of the mid-range.

TWEETER:

This tweeter is none other than the one proudly sported by our CANTABILEJUBILEE model. A 28mm impregnated silk dome tweeter particularly efficient. Its directivity is naturally very low, which allowed us to no longer use phase plug. Its linearity is exemplary and its internal damping optimal. It is animated by a powerful neodymium magnet, its very low resonance frequency allows us a cutoff frequency at 2800hz in 12db / octave. It is fixed thanks to a specific glue to a horn made of aluminum machined in the mass for a better mechanical reference and to further improve its directivity and its efficiency.

RECOMMENDATIONS OF USE:

Thanks to its low and extremely regular directivity, it is not necessary to arrange the two speakers so that they converge towards to ideal listening point, in order to draw maximum benefit from the phase of the system.

The distance between the two will be determined experimentally. In theory, the ideal distance is 2,5 meters from one centerline to the other, but this may be reduced. In order to get a consistent and deep stereo imaging, it is recommended to place the cabinet at 2,6 Ft from back and side walls.

* Best technical and musical results are obtained by using our cable HP1132 for the connection to the amplifier same cable used for inner interconnections of the entire system.
